Tiger Face for my Teacher

on Oval Plaque

I painted this tiger face on an oval tile. As I did the painting, I planned to give it to Hulda Stoppleman, my china painting teacher, as a token of thanks for all the help she had given me by her valuable suggestions on color, shadowing and highlights.   I penned a little note of appreciation on the back of the plate.   I did not tell Hulda ahead of time, while I was painting it, that it was for her.   She was pleasantly surprised when I gave it to her after it was finished.
