Marsha Reaves

Marsha Reaves now lives in Prattville, Alabama.  She has been working in porcelain for about 35 years.

Marsha's beautiful portraits illustrate the exquisite smoothness that can be achieved with china paint.  This is one reason I like this medium so much for painting portraits.

Marsha plans to specialize in wildlife portraits, but she will teach people portraits on request and accepts commissions in both. Marsha has taken many seminars with Jane Marcks in the past. She says that Jane Marcks is her idol.

Marsha's new web site is currently under construction. When finished, it will be at www.marshareavesstudio.com.

Marsha is a member of IPAT (International Porcelain Artists and Teachers) and she does copy editing for the organization's magazine, The Porcelain Artist. Marsha is also a member of WOCP (World Organization of China Painters), a Charter Member of PPIO (Porcelain Painters International Online) and a member of the American Society of Portrait Artists.

Marsha Reaves' Paintings

Christy

Boy

This little boy was painted from a cover of a 1920's Lady's Home Journal.  Marsha says she has painted him many times and has done a very detailed study with an 8X10 picture that she has available for $6.00 if anyone wants one.

Hugging

This is an Easter Egg Marsha says she enjoyed painting.

Santa

Marsha says she especially loves to paint Wanda Clapham's Santa on eggs and Christmas ornaments. This is one of Wanda's Santas, painted by Marsha. She says the picture in the round isn't perfect but maybe people can get the idea.
